Among my experiences in my short life, I spent several years teaching in a phenomenally ranked school district and prior to that, time teaching in one of the most abominable school districts. I've worked with creme de la creme master educators who completely rock inside the classroom and I've also come across people who are truly bottom of the barrel. But when asked, "Do you support merit pay for teachers?", my resounding answer is no notwithstanding that I've witnessed such wide disparities. There's nothing to equivocate. There are several reasons why merit pay is a horrible idea.
